Well, the not-so-good fanfic mentioned in my last post was really the ending. Bah. Still didn't like it, but the rest of the book was fairly good. I'm keeping this a spoiler-free zone for a bit longer, so that's all for now. :)
Aw, I'm sorry to hear that it was the real ending. =\ My sister and I were talking about the thousands of spoilers circulating the web within the past few week-- it would be almost impossible to tell the real ending from a fake one because of how some fans were copying Rowling's writing style. Of course, you happened to stumble across the real thing! Grr, what are the chances?
How dare you suggest that I skipped to the end! ;)
Seriously, I just jumped right in and read the whole book. We don't do the whole midnight party thing because we're not much for crowds, but my book came via UPS Saturday morning around 9am, and I finished it about 5 hours later.
I'll probably read it at least once more in the next week or so just to pick up on any subtleties I might have missed in the first read. That's typically how I read books with high spoiler potential even though I was spoiled this time anyway. :D
