What books did you love as a child?

Honestly, I could probably write on this topic every day for a year and not run out of books. Off the top of my head, I'd have to mention Harriet the Spy (last seen as my fictional counterpart), The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis, everything by L.M. Montgomery, the Little House on the Prairie books, The Borrowers books by Mary Norton, the Betsy-Tacy books by Maud Hart Lovelace, and the Betsy books by Carolyn Hayward. I also loved (and still love) fairy tales and mythology, so I had lots of books with stories from other countries and classic mythology.
I also have to spotlight my favorite children's book author/illustrator Tomie dePaola. I brought home The Clown of God from the library one day when I was 4 or so, and I fell in love with the pictures and the story. Every time I went through it, I found some new little detail in the pictures that I'd missed before. I couldn't get enough of his books, and Fin M'Coul: The Giant of Knockmany Hill in addition to the many others quickly became favorites as well. I still buy his books, and I still love them.
