I started craving a tuna sandwich on 7-grain bread with provolone, sprouts, and cucumbers from our local deli around supper time, so I thought I'd give Matt a call to see if he was heading home from work yet. I got his voice mail, which is typical when he's driving because he knows I'd rather him wait until he's somewhere safe than be scrambling for the phone while he's driving. I figured I'd missed my chance to get the sandwich, which wasn't a big deal.

He called a few minutes later to see why I'd called him, and I told him that I'd just been wanting a sandwich and that it wasn't any big deal. We got off the phone, and he walked through the door about 5 minutes later with a tuna sandwich on 7-grain bread with provolone, sprouts, and cucumbers. He'd actually been in the deli ordering sandwiches when I called. He had a feeling that I'd be in the mood for a sandwich, and he even picked the right one out of a selection of likely possibilities.

Being married long enough that you develop super powers is a really good thing! Maybe we'll get some more powers when we celebrate our anniversary next month. :D

can't find my fortune

I'm quite irritated by the fact that I can't find my favorite fortune anywhere in the apartment because I wanted to take a picture of it for today's Vox Hunt. It was stuck to the case of my old computer, but it's not there now, and I don't know where else it would be. Of course, that didn't stop me from tearing apart everything to find it. I was a woman on a mission! ;)

The text of my favorite fortune? "You are a crunchy noodle in the vegetarian salad of life." It's funny. It can be interpreted in several ways. What's not to love? Matt and I still randomly quote that to each other, and we still crack up every time.

fairy tales really do come true

I followed a link to Free Will Astrology from Willa's blog, and the horoscope for Aquarius made me smile.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18): King Ludwig II of Bavaria (1845-1886) was deposed after being designated as insane by a team of psychiatrists. Among the evidence they cited as proof that Ludwig was crazy were his blueprints for a flying vehicle that would resemble a peacock. In recent months, however, a German engineer named Dalibor Karacic has examined Mad King Ludwig's plans and declared that they are feasible. The steam-powered peacock would have indeed been capable of flight. Ludwig, says Karacic, was ahead of his time. Take heart from this correction, Aquarius. If you relentlessly nurture your faith in your frontier ideas--notions that others might call fairy tales--you will ultimately be vindicated.

Fun fact: King Ludwig II was the king who had Neuschwanstein Castle built, and that castle was the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland, so talking about fairy tales in the horoscope is kind of cool. :)

It's the little things...

As I've mentioned before, I play World of Warcraft. My main server has been less than stable, so I've taken to making alt characters on various other realms that happen to be up when my server is down. Yesterday many servers were down, and upon entering the starting zone, I saw quite a crowd of level one characters, and most of them were refugees from the down servers. Everyone seemed to be in a silly mood, and we were dueling each other and setting out in large groups to explore areas much higher than our little first level selves. There was no point trying to do the early quests anyway because there were only empty corpses as far as a gnome's eye could see.
